This is Lauren, or LoLo, Jie-ye (pronounced “G-yay”).
My work, paintings, and drawings are about my passion for wildlife (including plants and humans) and psycho-emotional climates (including those of non-human animals).
I graduated from UCSC with a degree in Visual Art, exploring sculpture, illustration, and painting. I discovered some of my favorite abstract painters while on a year-long study abroad in Bordeaux, France.
Before discovering my calling--BetweenUsArt--I taught 4th grade in San Jose and later Elementary Art in Watsonville...while my dog taught me the value of having an animal family member.
When I’m not at an easel, I might be ecstatic-dancing, practicing yoga, or seeking inspiring interaction with my wild neighbors at the beaches, breweries, forests, and farms around my home in the Santa Cruz mountains.
